Who forgets a female named Mical!!! It was the bane of my existence growing up, but I now that I’m “mature” I love being different. I started cycling just before I went to college, trying to keep up with my dad and brother I learned really fast. The weekend before I started my first semester of college I entered my first race, Alberta Provincials in Hinton, Alberta. It snowed, I was the only girl in my category, I didn’t have any of the right gear so I froze and my glasses were so fogged up I couldn’t see anything…but I fell in love with the sport and lifestyle!

I’m a professional mountain biker and cyclocross racer out of Victoria, BC. I’ve been on the Canadian National cross country cycling team since 2005, and had the opportunity to represent Canada at 3 World Championships, including being selected as the only woman on the 2010 Canadian Relay Team. I’ve also had the opportunity to represent Canada at 2 Pan American Championships and various World Cups all over the World.

I am a 3 times Transrockies Champion, which is the most grueling and epic, for lack of a better word, stage race. Twice winning the Coed category for the 7 day race, and this past season winning the 3 day (TR3) solo Pro Women. I am also a 2 time runner up in the 7 day BC Bike Race in the Coed category, both years behind Olympic racers and National Champions.

This past season, 2011, I focused a lot more energy in cyclocross and fell in love with the goofy sport. I am currently ranked #1 in Canada for cyclocross, and finished 12th Overall in the USGP series after doing only 4 of the 8 races! Cyclocross is the fastest growing discipline in cycling, with World Championship being in Belgium this past January, there was 60,000 people present and over 1.6 million viewers online!!!!! World Championships are in Louisville, Kentucky for 2013, the first time ever on North American soil.

Venturing into Xterra in 2011 was a great and humbling experience. After finishing 5th in my very first Xterra race, Canadian Nationals in Whistler, I quickly found out that I really need to learn how to swim...note to self.

I am coach/mentor to the Pro City Sistas, a large group of very keen women that ride/race out of the Trek Pro City store in Victoria. It’s been a great experience being a part of a group that encourages women to try cycling, fall in love with the lifestyle, and push their limits!! As well, I'm involved with leading Tour de Victoria clinics out of the Trek Store, which helps people achieve their goals of finishing 50/100/140 km distances.

My main goal for 2012/2013 is cyclocross, and I’m going to focus the majority of my energy and resources into the dream of being World Champion of the World! I have found that I am really fast after stage racing, so I’m using the summer to race a number of stage races, defending my TR3 title and moving onto the Furious3 events, and be ridiculously fast for the fall/winter. As well as a number of local races, Canadian Nationals, maybe some Xterra races and riding with my Sistas, it’s going to be a fun busy summer.

My goals and plans for 2012 and beyond racing...click here, it's my plan :-)

What can I do for you my Sponsor?

I'm looking for product and financial sponsorship to help with my 2012 season and beyond, to help achieve my goals. It takes an immense amount of support, time and effort to be a professional athlete, but it's what I love to do.

In return for sponsorship I will promote the company or product to the very best of my ability! I can reach a very large market of people all over the World and I know I am a great marketing opportunity for your company. Through my personal blog (Mical) and other media outlets such as Canadiancycling.ca, CX Magazine, cyclingdirt.org, canadiancyclist.com and my print copies such as my latest picture in Issue 6 or Rouleur Magazine, I constantly reach people all over the world. On the local scene, I work am a highly visible athlete, involved with helping out and giving back to the cycling community in various ways.

My venturing into the Xterra world, and everyone knows that anything to do with triathlon is a huge market, opens up a whole other avenue of marketing potential.

In return for financial sponsorship I will put a company or product logo on my custom kit which will be worn at every event that I attend. As well, a logo and link will be added to my personal blog, and any other media opportunities that arise through out the year. I am a highly visible athlete, making a name for myself in the endurance racing and cyclocross world. Just Google my name, it's a name that's easy to remember and I'm a racer that definitely sticks out at a race. I'm available and willing to do promotional work to help each and every one of my sponsors out, and I'm open to any ideas that may arise.

Join me and my team of sponsors for the 2012 season and beyond!
